1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the CowCash mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

CowCash ("we," "us," or "our") reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

CowCash is a personal finance application that helps you track spending, manage budgets, and monitor your financial health. The Service includes:

• Budget creation and management
• Manual and automatic transaction tracking
• Bank account connections via Plaid for automatic transaction imports (Premium)
• AI-powered transaction categorization (Premium)
• Spending insights, trends, and analytics (Premium)
• Push notifications for budget alerts and spending updates (Premium)

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use only and is intended to assist with budgeting. It does not constitute financial advice.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU/EEA) to create an account and use the Service.

4. Subscription Terms

4.1 Free Tier

CowCash offers a free tier that includes budget creation, manual transaction entry, and basic spending tracking. Free tier features may be modified at our discretion.

4.2 Premium Subscription

CowCash Premium is available as a monthly subscription at $7.99 per month. Premium unlocks additional features including bank account syncing, AI categorization, spending insights, and smart notifications.

4.3 Free Trial

New users may be eligible for a 14-day free trial of CowCash Premium. No payment information is required to start a trial. Each user is eligible for one free trial only. At the end of the trial period, you will need to subscribe to continue using Premium features.

4.4 Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly through the Apple App Store (in-app purchase) or via Stripe (web checkout). Payment is charged at the beginning of each billing cycle. All fees are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.

4.5 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. For App Store subscriptions, manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings. For Stripe subscriptions, contact us at support@cowcash.me. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

4.6 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect. Your continued subscription after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to it
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use the Service to transmit malicious code or content
• Create multiple accounts to abuse free trials or promotional offers
• Share your account credentials with others or allow others to access your account
• Use the Service in any way that could damage or impair the Service for other users

6. Financial Data and Third-Party Services

6.1 Bank Account Connections

CowCash uses Plaid Inc. to connect to your bank accounts. By linking your accounts, you authorize Plaid to access your financial information on your behalf. Your use of Plaid is subject to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.

6.2 Data Accuracy

While we strive to display accurate financial information, we rely on data provided by your financial institutions through Plaid. We are not responsible for inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed transaction data from your bank or financial institution.

6.3 Not Financial Advice

The Service provides budgeting tools and spending information for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You should consult qualified professionals for financial decisions.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CowCash and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This includes but is not limited to:

• The CowCash name, logo, and brand assets
• App design, user interface, and user experience
• Software code and algorithms
• Documentation and written content

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CowCash and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses
• Financial decisions made based on information provided by the Service
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Interruption or cessation of the Service
• Errors or inaccuracies in transaction data from third-party providers

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any defects will be corrected. We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CowCash and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse of free trial or promotional offers
• Extended period of inactivity

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the app settings or by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in the State of California.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CowCash regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
